Back Again

Hello girls and boys!! I'm back... again...

As some of you may know (or not) I started this blog in May 2013. Looking back on this year I see that this blog made me feel really good about myself and whenever I wrote something or had some sort of idea, I'd feel really excited and I'd forget all my problems and I'd feel relaxed, like I was going on holiday... but this is much more affordable :)

I decided to take a break from writing on Summer and another break quite recently, in November, due to being so stressed about school's final exams and projects, for this past term... 2 more to go :(
But I promised I'd be back and I'm not gonna stop writing this blog posts for a while.

I also have some exciting news! I've wanted to do this for a couple of years now but I was never confident enough to "take the risk". But now I am so I'm happy to announce that I'll be starting a Youtube channel soon :D (the link is on top of the blog if you want to check it out)

Types of exercise

In continuation of this "Make yourself feel better" series, today I have for you some exercises that will not only make you feel better, after you've done them, but also help you stay fit (advisory: might not work for everyone. As I said last week I'm not a professional in this area.)

The first thing to remember is that the routine of exercises has to be scheduled because otherwise you might fail on exercising regularly. Choose how often you want to exercise. For example, if you want to do it 3 days a week maybe try to alternate the days. It would be something like this:
-Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays: exercise
-Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays: no exercise

The next thing is how much time: If you want to workout 3 days in a week, do about 45min to 1 hour each day. If you exercise more times a week, do less time: if you workout 5 times a week do about 30min each day. This way you won't over-exercise because if you did you'd feel really tired at the end of the week.

Finally the types of exercise you can do. Keep in mind, alternating exercises is good but if you can't do something don't push yourself, take your time. If you train hard one day you might be able to do all the exercises. 
-walking, jogging or running (start with walking and slowly upgrade the speed)
-sign up into a gym. ask for a plan designed for you (if you don't have the money it's okay, there's other ways)
-go for a jog, every 10 minutes run faster for 1 to 2 minutes OR jog and alternate with sprints (I read it increases the metabolism)
-choose an up beat song or multiple songs and dance; it's fun and you don't have to leave the house

Tomorrow I will post a list of foods you can and can't eat when trying to lose weight or just if you want to eat healthier. (Once again I'm not a professinal in this area; all of this is based on my personal experiences)

Change Your Life - Lists

Last week the post was about how to create an exercise routine so this week is gonna be about the types of exercise you can do and the types of food you should and should avoid.

 Now that you know how to create a schedule it's time to create the lists. I have plenty of them but the 3 that I find are the most important ones are:
-types of exercises
-foods you should avoid eating often
-quotes/phrases that will help you staying focused and not giving up

I'm not a professional nutricionist or something like that but I will create the first two lists and I will post them for anyone who wants. The 3rd list will also have its own post but that you can find anywhere. If you want one right away go on Tumblr and search for quotes, write them on a piece of paper and keep that list in a place you look at often. It will boost your confidence and willing power everytime you read it.

Next week's post is going to be about the types of exercise you can do to stay fit. The post about the foods you should or shouldn't eat is going up on sunday and the post about the quotes or phrases is probably going up the following weekend (not sure yet).

Change Your Life - Exercising

Do you want to have a better life, start living a healthy lifestyle and be happy with the way you are inside and out? If so this is the post that will encourage you. But keep one thing in mind: this is just a bunch of words online, they're not a miracle. You have to gain the courage and willing power for yourself. Shall we start?...

The first thing I think it's important and will most definitely help you is to plan things. Having a detailed schedule and a list or more will save you time and you'll have more control in this first phase of your life change. One note: Starting is not easy at all! You'll think it's gonna be really easy but, unless you have a strong and huge willing power, it won't. So keep this in mind: Don't give up, keep going even if you don't feel like doing it anymore. You'll regret the choice of giving up.
Doing a schedule is not hard. If you're in school or you have a job, or both, make sure that working out does not interfere with that. Schedule some time to go for a jod or do some home exercising, or go to the gym if you can or when you don't have anything to do.
For example: myself. I'm still studying and as I have all my classes at morning time I scheduled my working out routine to the afternoons. My week is basically planned like this:
-Go to school;
-Come home from school;
-Have lunch and rest a little;
-Do my homework/study for tests (for as long as I need);
-Have a little snack and then do some home exercising or go for an afternoon job.

Try to do this at least # times a week.

Role Models - Part 2

Taylor Swift, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock have been a part of my life for a little more than 2 years.

Taylor Swift is out of the 8 girls the one I relate to the least but I love her as much as I love the others!! She has thought me never to care about what others think, specially when it comes to love.
People talk absolute crap about her and say she's a b*tch because she dates this or this guy to write songs. Yeah, she dated them... so what?! She has the right to do it and she has the right to write lyrics for her songs too. You may say she dates the guys just to make good songs... I think you're just JEALOUS AS HELL!!! I feel and I know that she dates the guys cuz she's trying to find love... eventually they'll break up because he, she or both of them knew it wasn't gonna work anymore. Most of the times she's hurt, because love is a painful thing and she writes songs to express her feelings.
And this is the reason I love her and the reason I respect her... she has a good way to turn something that is negative for her into a positive thing for her fans!!

The Little Mix girls are my favorite girl band and 4 of my favorite people in the world. They're like big sisters (once again) who said to me never to give up on my dreams and to embrace every moment as if it will be the last. When they entered The X Factor UK they made history by being the first ever group to win the show! That inspired me and everytime people talk about them it's like they're talking about me. I feel very emotional when watching Little Mix's videos, photos, listening to their songs because deep down I want to be like them. I want to enter The X Factor UK, be put in a girl band and maybe even win the show. It's a recent dream but it's very important to me!!
Individually they do and say things that kinda are parts of the perfect big sister, they complete each other and they complete me! :)

Jade is absolutely gorgeous, amazing and very cute! She's like the baby of the group tho she's not the youngest one. She thought me never to give up on anything I want. If I fail I must get back on my feet and try harder the following times till I get to the place I want! She went to X Factor 2 times before she finally made it and look where she is right now!!

Perrie is oddly cute! Even though she burps, farts eats a lot, does animal impressions, she's perfect. Those things make her perfect and so amazingly beautiful!!! I relate a lot to her because my personality is very similar to her's... the things she does, the way she dresses, the way she is... is so like me, I love it!! :)

Jesy is my girl crush out of the 4! She is absolutely beautiful, amazing, perfect, gorgeous. Her face, her hair, her clothes, her eyes, her voice, her body, her personality, her laugh... Everything about her is pure perfection.
I can also relate a lot to her because of body image issues. I find that she's now in a healthy and happy place and state of mind, so I feel really proud, I'm ver happy for her and I'd like to find myself in that same place and state of mind some day!!

Leigh-Anne, last but not least, is the funny one. She is obviously beautiful and she has a really cool style and that hair... OMG, the hair is perfect! But it's her fun and out going personality that makes me feel happy everytime I think about her.
If I was having a bad day I'd like to have her with me because I know for sure that she would brighten up my day with all her jokes and funny accents. She's my little Leigh and I love her to bits!! <3 <3

The 4 of them are like soul mates of mine!! I love them till the end of the world, till the moon and back, across the Universe!

Basically these are my 8 big sisters! They're the people who teach me new things about life almost everyday and even though I don't know them personally it's like they have always been a part of my life!

Role Models

Whilst growing up everyone has that one person they look up to. Each step they take, what they do in simple situations, what they do in hard situatuions... everything the people we look up to do is important to us. In some cases those idols might be our parent, our sibiling or our friends; in other cases the usual thing we do is we look up to actors, singers someone we can't reach, someone we don't know 100%. But they are our inspirations, our role models, what we deep down want to become...
In my case there are 8 girls I look up to. These girls have been in my life through happy and sad times, through hell, through everything. Everyhing I feel, every decision I make are things I do on my own but is like they're there because they thought me so much, without even realising.
These eight girls are: Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Taylor Swift.

Demi, Miley and Selena have been a part of my life for a few years. I grew up watching them on TV, on some of my favorite series and movies. I grew up wanting to be like them!

Demi Lovato out of the 3 is the most important one to me. Her story, her journey from Disney times to now is something that has a soft spot in my heart. I'm really attached to her, she's like a big sister to me, the big sister I never had.
I first saw her on "Camp Rock" and I fell madly in love with her character and so I searched things about her and her life. I bought her first record and the songs were constantly being played! And from that time to now she became my biggest role model, the one I look up to in music and in almost everything health and beauty related.

Miley Cyrus is also really special to me! I first saw her on "Hannah Montana" and I loved her... but now I love her even more. She started to change, back in 2010 when I saw her live in concert, in Rock in Rio Lisbon and I started to change with her. I was 14 when she was 18 and I understood her choices and the way she was acting, she was growing up to be an independent woman who does not care about what people say or think about her. I loved the way she started to behave, her attitudes!!
Recently she apparently had a drastic change but I know it's not like that... she had been planning this for a long time and I must say I like the new Miley. She's a fighter and she is who she wants to be! I'm proud of her, she's my other big sister and I love her!! <3

Selena Gomez is my little one. I also grew up watching her on Disney and she inspired me. I wanted to be a part of the cast of "Wizards", I wanted her clothes and her characters clothes... I wanted to be like her!!!
She also grew up and she is becoming a beautiful, independent and strong woman. She inspires me because she never gave up on her dreams and she conquered the world, in my eyes. She's gorgeous, talented, humble, a hard worker... she's Selena Gomez and that's enough!

That's Just Who I Am

Hello beauties, today I have for you an inspirational post. 
So one day I was on Tumblr and I came across this very cool blog called “and that’s just who i am” and as I was scrolling down and reblogging stuff from there I thought that maybe I should take some inspiration from this blog to create something. The first idea that I had was a song (at least the lyrics), which I’m still gonna do but it’s not going to be easy and it will take time to be finished. So I decided to make something a little less time consuming and easier to do aka this post. So let’s start!!

I feel left out easily
If you feel left out make others notice that you’re there, don’t let them ignore you cuz they wouldn’t like if you’d ignore them.
I’m afraid
It’s okay to be afraid but don’t let the fear get the best of you, it must not be bigger than what you want.
I want a walk-in closet (with loads of clothes)
You’re not being materialistic if you want a big closet, it just proves that you love to feel pretty and good about yourself.

I’m myself when I’m with my friends
I’m only me when I’m surronded by people that make me feel good about myself.
If you feel that you’re not you around certain people either you have to know them a little bit better and let them know things about yourself or they’re not your true friends.
In the first case you should talk to them and make them see that you don’t feel comfortable doing things around them, maybe they’ll help you get past that problem; In the second case just get rid of that bad people: they don’t realise you’re important and worthy, they’re not worthy of your time.
I’m unsure about everything
Being unsure is not a bad thing cuz if you knew what was ahead life would not be funny and joyful.
I get hurt easily
I get hurt with little stupid comments that sometimes a friend or a family member does. If it happens to you talk to whoever hurt you and try to solve that.
I wish people would see through my tough façade
This tends to happen when you’re not feeling happy. The best thing you can do is talk to someone and ask for help to get rid of that façade. Once you’re over with that (it can/might take some time) you’ll not feel the need to put on a façade in front of others.
I don’t accept myself
It is hard to fully accept everything about you but there are ways to do that, you just have to look on the bright side of things. For example: If you don’t like your eyes maybe try to start wearing makeup to make them pretty. Soon you’ll accept them.
I can’t wait to find myself
Most people go a long way till they find themselves but it will eventually happen. Don’t try to rush things, everything happens in the right time.
I think too much
It can be good but it also can be bad. If thinking a lot it’s making you feel down or upset try to think about good things or memories and keep yourself busy to get your mind out of those bad things. Going for a walk or going to the gym is usually a good option.
I want new friends
If you feel that the friends you currently have are not truly your friends talk to them, explain your reasons and move away. Find people that are more like you and try to be their friend, just be yourself and you'll be fine.
I try too hard to fit in
Don’t try to fit in because you will not be yourself and you will not show your “true colors”. Instead go on, gain some courage and talk to other people, maybe this time you won’t have to fit in.
I’m multiracial
Don’t be ashamed to be multiracial. I myself am multiracial and I actually like it, it allows you to know about different cultures and people.

For example: I’m indian, mozambican and portuguese. I’ve ate completely different types of food and my apperance is quite exotic, which people find interesting (a great way to make friends also).
I’m staying strong
Whatever happened or is happening or will happen in your life that will make you feel really bad and poorly, just remember that you’re not alone, there are a lot of people in the world going through the same thing as you and it will get better, you just have to believe it. Stay Strong for yourself and for others, you will be a better and stronger person after this dark period.
I’m nice to everyone
Remember to be nice to everyone.

Someone who is feeling bad and sad will brighten up a little bit if someone is nice to them.
Someone who’s already happy will be happier if they receive a huge smile or a nice complimment.
I care way too much about someone who couldn’t care less
If this is happening with you just forget that person, move on, they’re not worth the hours you spend crying or thinking about them.
I want to stop bullying
Bullying is not a funny thing, it’s very serious. If you’re being bullied or you know someone who’s being bullied ask for help.

Bullying can really destroy someone confidence and self-esteem and it takes years to get them back.
If you’re someone who treats others bad to feel good about yourself please quit doing that, it’s not good for you and it’s not good for your “victims”. Instead ask for help or find another way to feel confident.
I spend too much time indoors
Spending too much time indoors is not healthy at all. You need to turn off your computer and go outside to experience the good things this life has to offer.

I’m not going to let anyone make me believe I’m not worth it
You are totally worth it, don’t ever let anyone say that you’re not. You worth as much as everyone else and if someone says you don’t just ignore that person cuz he or she is talking absolute crap.
I’m not comfortable in my own skin
Feeling good in your own skin is not always easy to accomplish but it’s possible, you just have to give yourself some time and take good care of your body and your mind.
I’m not stereotypical
Good, that’s good. Don’t be stereotypical, be different. Original and different from everyone else is the best thing you can be. But at the same time don’t worry if physically you’re similar to others girls or boys, because emotionally and the way you think, your values are different from everyone else. Everyone’s perfect in their own way.
I still watch Disney Channel
Anyone that watches Disney or any other channel like that is cool in my eyes cuz I like people to be adult and serious when it’s required but most times I, myself like to be as silly and childish as I can be. Don’t ever let your inner kid die, ever (that’s what my mum says to me, haha).
I just want to be able to be myself without being judged for it
If people judge you because you do something or you are different from what they expect, let me tell you that you are with the wrong people. No one should judge your ways, your looks or your personality.

Just be yourself and the right people will come into your life.
I can’t remember the last time I smiled for real
That’s not very good because smiling and laughing are two of the best things in the world and are very healthy things to do. Just try to fix or solve, as quick as possible, any problems that you might have in your life and do things that will boost your hapinness, that way you’ll smile and laugh much more and it will be real.
I’m a good friend
Always be a good friend, it is very important to be a nice and caring friend not only because if you need something your friends will help you and support you in a more active way if you’ve been nice to them but also because being nice and helping others and caring are things you should do everyday. Why should we need na purpose to do that?
My problems follow me everywhere
Don’t let your problems follow you everywhere, they can’t be bigger than anything else. Of course there should be a time when you think about them but you are the one who chooses the time, not your problems. Clear your mind with other things troughout the day.
I don’t want to let anyone know that I’m broken
It’s obvious no one wants to be exposed when they are so fragile and emotionally broken but there will be a time when you have to do that, otherwise your problems are just gonna grow till you can’t take them no more. Tell someone you really do trust what’s happening and finish that pain before it finishes you.
I’m scared of the world
The world
can be a scary place but the real “monster” is your fear, the fear that you carry everyday with you. That fear isn’t allowing you to live properly and fully. You just need to focuse on what you want to do, take the fear and put it in a little box and trow it in the river. Don't let it stop you!

My Story

This is kinda a "Draw My Life" type of post but not as detailed and colorful. And I actually will be doing that video once I'm more confident in front of my camera.
We're in 1996, March the 16th... it's the day of my birth. I was born in Lisbon, Portugal. I'm the oldest kid my parents have and I have a younger sister.
Through pre-school and primary school I was a happy child, a bit shy but I was friends with everyone and I was nice to people so no one really bugged me or did anything mean... and the bonus was my sister and my cousin were in the same schools as me so I was always with them.

Things got a bit serious for me when I was in 5th and 6th grades, the first two years of middle school. I had to change to a different school so I didn't have my two "best friends", I was out of my comfort zone.
And it was really hard to be alone, I became even more shy than I was but eventually things got a little bit better and I managed to get through  those hard 2 years. Strong kid, proud of myself!! :)
When I was in the 2nd part of middle school which is 7th, 8th and 9th grades in Portugal, things got a lot easier because I had made new friends and I had my sister in the same school, once again. Obviously not everything was rainbows and perfect and fun and happy but those 3 years were actually the best 3 years of my life, so far.

Then it was time to say goodbye to that school and to those amazingly supportive friends and start a new chapter in my life, High School (btw I'm still in High School, 12th grade). Well High School has been filled with ups and downs... I've had my heart broken a few times:
-one time by a crush cuz he started dating someone else but I survived, haha. (it was a silly crush on an older cute guy)
-the other 3 times were by friends. A couple of them are still friends of mine, a couple of them are not anymore but they were not supposed to be so I'm okay with that, I'm in the right path.

High School was also (still is) the time when and where I struggled with personal problems that will affect my life forever. It might be good or it might be terrible but I preddict good things, we'll see...
10th grade was the year I had a really bad breakdown because anxiety kicked in, it is now a part of my life but I can deal with in, I've learnt to, I am still learning, every single day. I was also really upset and disappointed with myself because I felt I was in the wrong place and I was taking the wrong subjects in school.
I was playing and being safe and that's not what I want at all for my life. That is basically the way I will end up doing somenthing that does not please me when all I wanna do is fight for my dreams and live them to their fullest. But now I feel I'm doing the right thing, I like to think that everything happens for a reason!

But yeah, this is just a summary of my life till now. There's a lot more to tell, a lot more coming and hopefully great things will happen.

I'M BACK

I’M BACK!!! 

I’m sorry if I’ve been missing for a long time but this summer did not go has planned, it was a bit crazy and a lot happened. But I’m finally back and this time is for real, I’m gonna spend as much time doing things for you guys as I can cuz this is one of the things I really enjoy doing!

So here’s a little list of titles of the next posts:

The Bus!

Hello! Let me tell that today was a very strange day. It started as a pretty normal day, me and my friends went to the mall, had some food while talking about random things. The strange part was when we had to catch the bus to go home, we didn't know when and where the bus stopped.
We stayed more than one hour just casually chatting whilst we were waiting for the it to come. But... we were in the wrong place cuz our bus was not gonna stop there, it was on the other side of the road. And then when a bus finally came we asked if it was ours and the driver explained that we were in the wrong stop. We were like: CRAP!! We've been waiting for more than an hour...
We eventually went to the right place but it took us a long time cuz we looked in all the wrong places. But it was all okay in the end, as I'm home writing this for you guys!!

Confidence/Success/Positivity

Hey, this post is about somethings that I think are very important to succeed in life. But I just want to say I'm not an expert, I'm just 17 years old and I wanted to share my point of view :)

One of this days I was talking with my mum about going to college/university: I'd like to have that experience but at the same time I want to follow my dreams. I don't know how I'm going to do that but I sure will not give up on what I want to do, what really makes me happy to go study something that probably won't make me as happy...
But all this introduction talk is something we all know and hear everyday. The main thing I'm trying to tell, the important message of this post is something that I try to do often: being positve about things!!!
It can be an ordinary daily situation or a big decision, it doesn't matter...
I know a lot of people who don't believe that they are capable to reach their goals and be good at it. And as I have kind of a confident personality I tell them that the better way to make something great happen is to first of all believe 100% in themselves and in what they're doing.

(A little note: I'm not in any way saying that only confident people can reach their goals and make amazing things happen, not at all. Everyone can do anything they want and confidence is a thing you build.)

Confidence + Hard Work + Being Yourself + Being Humble = Success 

But success doesn't come easy and sometimes takes a lot of time to reach which is why people should not give up, keep trying harder and harder. That way you will improve and have new experiences, meet new people, ...

A day with my friends!!

Hello beauties!! So two weeks ago me, my sister, my cousin and 2 friends decided to go to Sintra because we had nothing to do and it was also a special celebration of Erica's birthday (she's one of the friends and her birthday was in the beginning of this month but it doens't matter...). Four of us met up at my aunt's house and then we met up with Bárbara in Sintra.
First thing we had to do: FOOD, obviously. It's the most important thing in the world!! We first went to a very famous and cool cafe in Sintra: 'Piriquita'.

And this was what we got

Of course there were more of this but everyone ate them before I could take pictures (and that includes me)


And as we make every situation funny and the day was being really cool we wanted to take a few photos of our silly moments, just so that we don't forget anything that happened :)


And one of the things we sure will remember was the fact that a british couple (not sure if they were british or not but we think they were) along with family and friends went to this cafe after getting married. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen!!

As you can see we were already outside because we wanted ice cream!! 
Hmm, ICE CREAM!!!

After eating we went to the palace (outside, of course) and we started taking pictures of ourselves, singing, dancing, listening to good african music and making loads of stupid things. 

At night time we met up again and we went to Lisbon with my older cousins. We met a few drunk men that wanted us to take pictures with them but we didn't feel like doing it, if you know what I mean. But the highlights of the night were when we decided to say hi and wave at strangers outside the car and when we were listening to top 10 african music, singing really loud and making the people that were passing by dance.

Taking risks

Hey there!! This post is going to be about something that happend to me last summer.
Because of 3 friends (Madalena, Maggie and Anete) I started to like One Direction!! First I fell in love with some of their songs but then I fell in love with their personalities because I saw some compilations of their Funny Moments!! (and by some I mean loads...)
So then I searched because I wanted to know their story, their full names, birthdates, etc etc etc. And one thing I wanted to know as well was if they were single or not... and I found out that Liam, Louis and Zayn were not single #merp (btw I'm aware of their current dating situations)

So then I searched about their girlfriends: Dani, El and Pez. I liked them a lot but the one that I truly fell in love with (I do fall in love with people and things a lot, just saying) was Perrie, Zayn's girlfriend. I found that she was in a band called Little Mix (which is now my favorite band).

I spent days searching things and watching videos about them. I watched every single video I could find of their time on X Factor and the main video that inspired me was their winner's story. I thought 'If these 4 normal girls who are just as crazy and random as me followed their dreams and made it, why can't I do the same thing?' And so a new phase of my life started: I decided not to play safe, I'm going to try, I'm going to follow my dreams. 

The whole point of life is to be happy and do what you want to do, isn't it? So like me I want you to try... even if you're unsure, insecure, scared...
And if you don't make it the first time, prepare yourself better and try a second, third, fourth time... try as long as it's possible and as many times as you can!!

Camping Trip!!

About 1 week ago me and my friends went on a camping trip to Sesimbra. My first time camping and I had the best time, definitely something to do again!!
And this trip was very important not just because it allowed me to created great memories with my friends but also because I was a bit down that weekend so it made me forget everything.

The first day was a bit of a challenge, some of us did canoeing and others walked a really hard path, both things just to get to the beach. But I think it was worth it because that beach was just incredible! (Unfortunately I don't have videos or photos of the first day because I left my camera in my tent)

The second day was really good as well. We went to a different beach because my group of friends refused to walk the same path once again. We basically spent the day sunbathing which was very productive as most  of us are now really tanned. At about 5pm we went back to the camping park to take a shower and get ready to return to our sad student lives :(

One Direction Concert :)

So 2 weeks ago I went to probably the best concert ever, my first 1D concert! I must say it was a very fun and emotional day, more than I expected. 
The previous day me and my friends had the brilliant idea to go to the airport to wait for the boys, but...... it was a MASSIVE FAIL because they came to Lisbon on the tour bus. But we had a lot of fun and we created really good memories, that's all that matters!! 
So the day of the concert (26th of May) I went to the arena at 4pm and I met up with the girls and also a few other friends. :)
